The team of the National Ukrainian Youth Association (NUMO) took part in meetings with representatives of organizations from Eastern Partnership countries and national youth councils in Brussels. The event was an important step in strengthening the European vector of Ukraine's youth policy and enhancing the representation of Ukrainian youth at the international level.
During the meetings, participants discussed opportunities for cooperation with the structures of the European Youth Forum. It is the largest platform of youth organizations in Europe, covering more than 100 members and representing the interests of tens of millions of young people. The Forum promotes youth participation in public life and advocates for their rights at the European policy level.
«Ukrainian youth need greater representation on all international platforms due to the war. The voice of young people, represented by NUMO, must be heard. Participation in the Forum will give us the tools for effective advocacy and access to European partners who understand our challenges. That is why we want to become part of the European Youth Forum».

Why it matters
The full-scale war has created significant challenges for Ukrainian youth, from forced migration to the loss of educational and professional opportunities. Representation in the European Youth Forum will strengthen Ukraine's influence on the formation of youth policy in the EU and provide access to resources, expert knowledge, and international support networks.
During the meetings, NUMO presented Ukraine's experience in implementing Youth Policy Labs, which aim to develop youth participation at the local level. There was also an exchange of practices with partners from the Eastern Partnership who are working to overcome common challenges through dialogue and cooperation.
