Biography

He was born on November 23, 1985, in the village of Smykivtsi, Ternopil District, Ternopil Region. He joined the ranks of the Ternopil Regional Organization of SUM in Ukraine on February 10, 2007. He described himself as a «cultural worker by profession,» worked in IT, and subsequently served as a regional representative for SUMnet from 2009 to 2010. From 2014 to 2016, he was a member of the SUM Central Executive Committee in Ukraine, and during the 2016–2017 term, he headed the SUM Control Commission in Ukraine. «Iarko» was an active participant in local and regional events, yet he was distinguished by his particular modesty and unpretentiousness. He was passionate about embroidery. He worked as an instructor at the Ivan Pul’uj Technical College of Ternopil National Technical University.

In May 2023, he received his draft notice and joined the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He served in the 42nd and 93rd Brigades. On November 23, «Iarko» turned 38. He spent that day in battle, and in response to a greeting from a friend in SUM, he wrote: «Send me your card number—I’ll donate to the SUM volunteer fund.»

He was killed on November 27, 2023, while carrying out a combat mission in a battle near the village of Klishchiivka in the Bakhmut district of Donetsk Oblast.
