Biography

Since 2010, he has been a member of the Super Chortenyata scout troop and later the White Lions youth group of the 107th Petro Voynovsky Scout Troop (led by senior scout Ihor Nakonechny, SM (2010-2014) and senior scout Andrii Kanak, SM (2014-2016) in the Chernivtsi station. At various times, he served as the group's secretary and treasurer. He took the Plast oath on July 10, 2014, at the «Battalion Prut» camp, where he became the first among the junior officers.

He is active in Plast life, participating in training, events, and trips. In 2014, he received the 3rd and 4th youth awards. He participated in a number of camps, including the «Star Wars» (2012), Chervonodibrovska Sich (2013), Battalion Prut (2014), YMPZ in Lviv for the 100th anniversary of Plast, and the regional camp Revor (2015).

He was actively involved in Plast until approximately 2016. However, he always kept in touch with Plast members. During his military service, he attended Plast events in Chernivtsi and Kyiv while on leave.

He studied at School No. 6 in Chernivtsi. He then graduated from Chernivtsi Transport College.

He was passionate about bicycles, motorcycles, and collecting records.

He began his military service at the Odessa Military Academy, but with the start of the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine in 2022, he left his studies and voluntarily enlisted in the army. He held the rank of soldier. He first served in the logistics forces, then transferred to the ground forces at his own request.

His last place of service was a company of strike aviation complexes in the 24th separate assault battalion «Aidar» of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He participated in the defense of Bakhmut, Chasovy Yar, Ivanivske, Konstantinopol, and Bohatyr.

While performing a combat mission in Konstantinopol, a group of fellow pilots came under fire and lost contact. Thanks to his professionalism in piloting drones, Ivan and his comrade found the wounded, personally provided emergency medical care, and evacuated the entire group to a safe rear area.

He died on April 20, 2025, near the village of Rozliv in the Volnovakha district of Donetsk region during a rotation from positions, covering three comrades with his body.

He is survived by his girlfriend, sister, brother, and parents.
