Biography

A friend of the MNC, whose photographs were featured in the photo exhibition «Two Centuries—One War.» In 2014, at the height of the Revolution of Dignity, Oleksiy Chernyshov and Maksym Levin were wounded during a protest outside the Kyiv-Sviatoshynsky District Court on January 10.

Together with his colleague Markiyan Liseyko, Levin founded the military-focused project AFTER ILOVAISK (afterilovaisk.com) in 2014 to preserve and reinterpret the significance of the events of August 2014 for soldiers, their families, and the citizens of Ukraine as a whole. Maksym was one of those who managed to escape alive from the Ilovaisk encirclement.

Maksym Levin was awarded the Order of Merit, 3rd Class, as well as the Order of Courage, 3rd Class (posthumously).
