Biography

Founder and first head of the Cherkasy branch of the Free Ukraine Youth Movement in 2010–2011, public figure, in the early 2010s he was the local coordinator of the all-Ukrainian initiative «For Peaceful Protest!», head of the family, youth, and sports department of the Cherkasy Regional State Administration. In the early days of the full-scale invasion, he unhesitatingly stood up to defend his country. He died in battle from his wounds on April 29, 2022, in Popasna, Luhansk region. For two and a half years, he was considered missing in action. Until the very end, he remained with his comrades, faithful to his oath and duty. «Maksym and I once organized events in defense of freedom of assembly, after which I remember walking through the center of Cherkasy. He was full of positive energy; those were good times,» recalled Mykhailo Kamenev.
