Biography

He joined Plast in 2005. He belonged to the Tornado group of the V. Lypynsky Youth Troop No. 79. In senior Plast, he became a member of the 3rd Troop of the USP Forest Devils, where he received the nickname Vertykhvist. Since 2018, he has been the leader of the «Hellish Mischiefmakers» group of the V. Lypynsky Youth Troop No. 79.

Organizer of dozens of Plast events, camps, and training sessions. In 2019, he was the commander of the Midgard camp. He was the head of the Ivano-Frankivsk Plast station for four terms, from 2018 until his death. Since 2021, he has been a member of the Ivano-Frankivsk district Plast council. From 2009 to 2010, he was the guitarist for the pop-punk band «The Pizza Boyz!».

With the start of the Russian invasion, he volunteered to defend Ukraine. He took part in battles in the Zaporizhzhia region as the chief sergeant of the 1st rifle platoon of the 2nd rifle company of the 78th separate battalion of the 102nd separate brigade of the Colonel Dmytro Vitovsky Territorial Defense Forces.

He was awarded the Iron Plast Cross on December 12, 2022. The award was presented to his family during the funeral ceremony in Ivano-Frankivsk.

Nazariy's comrade-in-arms, Senior Lieutenant Pavlo Nahorniak of the 78th Battalion of the 102nd Territorial Defense Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, recalled that the soldiers on the front lines called their commander «The Philosopher». It was interesting to be in the trenches with him, and most importantly, you felt confident behind him because even under fire, he inspired optimism and responsibility. The soldier called on people to join the ranks of the defenders to repel the enemy and win back Ukrainian independence.
