Biography

Plast member, participant in the first «Lisovyky» group of the preparatory kurin named after Dmytro Myron — «Orlyk» in the Berezhany station. He took the oath during a traditional Plast meeting on Mount Lysonia in August 1993.

With the start of the full-scale Russian invasion, he volunteered for the 125th Territorial Defense. He went to the combat zone as a combat medic in early June 2022.

He was killed in battle with Russian occupiers on June 12, 2022, in the Kharkiv region.

He was awarded the Iron Plast Cross on June 18, 2022.

«Oleksiy stood out from the rest not only in appearance, but also in certain little things that were unique to him. For example, as long as I knew him, he always smoked a pipe. He was a Plast member, raised in this paradigm since childhood, so he belonged to the cohort of those whom I could imagine going to war. And that's exactly what happened...,» recalls Volodymyr Reutsky, associate professor of the Department of Physical, Analytical, and General Chemistry.
