Biography
In 1992, as a schoolboy, he became interested in Plast and attempted to establish it. In 1997, he became one of the founders of Plast in Cherkasy region. At various times, he was a clerk, a senior Plast member, and a youth representative. He was also the leader of the «Wandering Knights» group. Later, he was the organizer of the «Panthers» and «Bats» groups. He completed all possible Plast training courses. Organizers (No. 35), liaison officers, training leaders, and the «Forest School» camp. He himself was the organizer, commander, and instructor of many camps, training courses, and events. He was one of the initiators and organizers of equestrian scouting. He later moved to the Kyiv station, where he became the organizer of the «Lions» and «Snow Leopards» clubs. He was a liaison officer for the 75th troop named after the Heroes of the Battle of Kruty. Since May 2010, he has been responsible for the development of the bird order in Ukraine. He first belonged to the preparatory troop of the Ukrainian Scouting Association «Shcheznyky,» and later moved to the 15th troop of the Ukrainian Scouting Association / 45th Ukrainian Scouting Organization «Order of the Iron Spike» named after S. Zavoyovnik.
In 1995, he graduated from School No. 1 in Talne. Later, he studied at the History Department of the Bohdan Khmelnytsky Cherkasy State University, where he received a higher education with a specialization in history teaching.
He received his second higher education in 2023, becoming a master of public management and administration. He defended his thesis while recovering from an injury in the hospital.
In 2019, he defended his doctoral dissertation, «The Religiosity of the Ukrainian Peasantry of the Dnieper Region (1861–1933).»
At the beginning of his first year as a student, he began working as a club leader at the Cherkasy City Station for Young Tourists, and from 2000 to 2003, he taught at schools in Cherkasy. From 2004 to 2005, he worked at the Charitable Foundation of Lyubomyr Romankiv, a member of the Plast Ukrainian Scouting Organization.
From 2005 to 2006, he worked at the Cherkasy Regional Center for Tourism, Local History, and Excursions for Schoolchildren as the head of the tourism and local history department and club leader. From 2006 to 2007, he worked at the Main Department for Internal Policy of the Cherkasy Regional State Administration, holding a position in the department for relations with political entities and public associations.
In 2007, he moved to Kyiv, where he worked in various positions, including in such organizations and structures as the People's Union Our Ukraine, the Regional Initiatives Fund Hart, the United Center, Golos, and others.
From March 2015, he worked in the apparatus of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine as an assistant-advisor to People's Deputy of Ukraine Andriy Parubiy.
He took an active part in the Orange Revolution and the Revolution of Dignity. He was a member of the Maidan Self-Defense Command Headquarters. He was one of the organizers of Self-Defense centers in the regions.
With the start of the ATO, he helped form volunteer battalions and provide them with volunteer assistance. In 2016, he obtained military education ahead of schedule. He became an officer. He voluntarily joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine in 2020.
With the start of the full-scale Russian invasion, he participated in the defense of the Kyiv region. As captain and commander of the 2nd motorized infantry company of the 72nd OMBR «Black Zaporozhians,» he fought for Kodema, Bakhmut, and Vuhledar in the Donetsk direction. He was wounded but returned to the front after rehabilitation.
He was killed on July 2, 2025, as a result of a Russian strike on a populated area with guided aerial bombs.
He is survived by his wife Svitlana, his son Andriy, who is also a military serviceman, and his daughter Daryna. Both children are active members of the Plast Ukrainian Scouting Organization.
