Biography

He joined Plast in Ternopil in 1993 as a novice. Later, he became a member of the «Grey Wolves» group of the 29th Y. Starosolsky Troop (led by Mykhailo Baran and Volodymyr Okarinsky), and then moved to the 51st S. Zavoyovnik Troop.

He took the Plast oath on November 1, 1998. Later, he earned the rank of scout. As a senior Plast member, he co-founded the preparatory troop «Plem'ya Mohikan» (2000), where he had the nickname «Zubaty Pen» (Toothy Stump).

He was the leader of the «Grey Wolves» group of the 29th I. Starosolsky Troop. He was also the liaison officer for the same troop. Later, from 2005 to 2008, he was the leader of the «Lions» group of the 51st S. Zavoyovnik Troop and, at the same time, the liaison officer for the same troop. An active participant in Plast life, he has been an organizer and co-organizer of numerous Plast training courses, camps, competitions, and events.

He is one of the pioneers of Indian Plast and the development of hiking, particularly through the regional camp "Hoverla," and periodically served as a member of the Ternopil Plast district council.

He studied at Secondary School No. 2 in Ternopil. He received his higher education at the History Department of the Volodymyr Hnatyuk Ternopil National Pedagogical University.

He wrote a historical dissertation on the development of the Plast press and uniform.

He worked in various jobs, including as a history teacher at School No. 12 in Ternopil, a sales manager, a manager at the Ye bookstore, and others.

He was passionate about writing poetry, archaeology, history, and mountain hiking.

In the early 2000s, he was a member of the Resistance movement. He was an active participant in the "Ukraine without Kuchma!" protests, the Orange Revolution, and the Revolution of Dignity.

With the start of the anti-terrorist operation in May 2014, he volunteered for the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He became a fighter in the 6th Territorial Defense Battalion «Zbruch» made up of volunteer residents of the Ternopil region. He took part in military operations to defend Mariupol and served in the Kherson region, covering the roads from Crimea.

After demobilization, he returned to Ternopil and worked in the inspection department of the Ternopil Regional Center for the Protection and Scientific Research of Cultural Heritage.

In 2017, he signed a contract with the 10th Separate Mountain Assault Brigade, after which he was involved in tasks in the Popasna area of Luhansk region.

He later worked for a Danish foundation, where he was involved in humanitarian demining in Donetsk and Luhansk regions.

After the full-scale Russian invasion, he was mobilized into the 10th Separate Mountain Assault Brigade «Edelweiss.»

He participated in the defense of Lysychansk and Sloviansk in Donetsk Oblast.

Soldier. He categorically refused sergeant ranks. Officially, he was a machine gun platoon driver. In reality, he spent three years in a fire support company, anti-tank platoon, where he used Corsairs, Fagots, and Javelins. From May 2025, he was in a machine gun platoon. He also operated heavy night drones.

On December 10, 2025, while performing a combat mission in the village of Svyato-Pokrovske, Siverska urban community, Bakhmut district, he was killed by an enemy drone attack.

During his participation in the ATO and full-scale invasion, he received seven awards and medals.

He is survived by his sister, parents, and immediate and extended family.
